Dental Emergencies

For business hours or after hours treatment of dental emergencies, please follow the procedures set out below:

Business Hours

In an emergency during business hours, please call the practice on 5221 6610.  The practice will see all genuine emergencies on the same day.  Dental emergencies will be seen on a first come first served basis, so please call as early as possible. 
Do not send emails or texts.  

After Hours

Monday to Friday, please call 0417 434 700 for genuine dental emergencies (see below) that arise before 8.30 am and after 5.00pm.  If in doubt, call us.

Weekend/ Holidays

Please call 5222 4776 for access to our emergency rota service

Help in understanding how serious your dental problem is.

The following are what we qualify as genuine dental emergencies:

• Severe toothache that is unresponsive to painkillers.
• Pain with swelling and temperature
• Trauma

The following are what we qualify as dental circumstances requiring urgent appointments and these will be attended to by priority appointment ASAP:

When you call the emergency number the following information will be requested to ascertain the nature and extent of the dental emergency.

• The nature of the emergency – trauma, pain
• Nature of the pain – dull, aching, throbbing
• Site and area affected
• Medication taken – eg antibiotics from GP doctor, analgesics
• Any other information – recent deep filling
