Mouthguards a must!

August 1 to 7 was Dental Health Week and the aim of this year's annual campaign is to remind the public of the importance of wearing a custom-fitted mouthguard during sport matches and training.

Sporting accidents are the most common cause of preventable dental injury.

The use of a mouthguard can help to absorb and spread the impact of a blow to the face.

Porcelain veneers can be used to change the shape and colour of teeth, mask discolouration, restore chipped and worn teeth, be an alternative to orthodontics to close spaces and straighten crooked teeth, correct teeth that are rotated, or even to close gaps.

Don’t Forget Your Toothbrush

In our last article we attempted to simplify the toothbrush selection decision.

We found that scientific studies have found that there was no difference between the effectiveness of manual and powered toothbrushes and that our selection of a toothbrush is largely personal.
